How Weak We Are!

Today I was at the hospital visiting one of our colleagues. It seems he has a heart problem. I myself was there because I had a medical problem also. This friend of mine is respected and energetic.

Little do we realize how weak we are.

We rarely reflect on incidents that underline our inherent weakness.
The reason, in my opinion, is we usually don't encounter situations that make us realize our inherent weakness. Even when we do, we rarely reflect on the incident. How many times has a pot, cup, or liquid burnt our hands? How many times have we cut or bruised ourselves? Do we stop to think what that says about the strength and power of our physical being? For those who reflect, it tells a lot.

Lately, there have been several incidents of kidnappings in Iraq. Some of them end up in the beheading of the hostage. It's not easy to watch them. Looking at those beheadings, it is unbelievable how easy man's head can come off. It really doesn't need that much effort. Our skin and tissue are so weak; it's amazing.

Look at what happens to people in accidents. Boom! The car flips, and then total darkness and sudden death. Indeed, we are very weak. We are disillusioned, but, nonetheless, very weak. No matter how proud we are, no matter how strong and powerful we 'think' we are, we are still very very weak creatures.
