I've found this theme to be consistent in other aspects of life too. Sleep is a weakness. When you sleep you are rendered vulnerable, yet the in the absence of this weakness, you are considered sick and seek medical intervention.
Love itself is a form of weakness. When you love something, you become needy to it and vulnerable.
A part of a woman's seduction is her weakness especially when she reveals it to her husband. He grows more attracted to her and exerts more effort to please her. His very masculinity and ego are fulfilled by that very fact. In fact, many woman, as we know, use that feminine trait to manipulate their husbands.
I think weakness is source of strength because it creates a void in a man's heart that he strives to fill. In that strife lies his strength.
